Further information

This essential oil is 100% pure:

  • Do not take internally;
  • Do not use undiluted on the skin;
  • Do not use this essential oil during pregnancy;
  • It is important to remember that whilst essential oils are being used, it is wise not to drink alcohol. This is particularly applicable when using Clary Sage.

Some suggestions:

  • Digestive problems: gentle massage over the stomach and abdomen (blend 3 to 5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml of carrier oil) or apply hot compresses (add 4 or 5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of warm water, soak a clean cloth or sterile gauze in the water and apply). Source: Patricia Davis, Aromatherapy.
  • In times of worry, try soaking in a warm bath containing 2 drops of Clary Sage, 2 drops of Geranium and 3 drops of Lavender, all diluted in a teaspoon of apricot Kernel oil.
  • An excellent massage oil can be made by blending 1 drop of Clary Sage, 1 drop of Roman Chamomile and 2 drops of Sandalwood in 10ml of Sweet Almond oil.
  • This essential oil "can help to reduce excessive production of sebum, especially on the scalp and can be put in a final rinsing water after shampooing, for people with very greasy hair and dandruff" (Patricia Davis, Aromatherapy).
